OPENS TONIGHT
DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS CONVERSATION
2-6 June | 7.30pm
Grief, pain, frustration and… football?
Welcome to the NHS. Come on in.
Nneka is a resident doctor finishing another exhausting shift in an overstretched hospital. Just as she’s about to leave, she’s asked to lead a DNAR conversation with the relative of a patient she has never met, about a patient she doesn’t know, under impossible time pressure.
Set entirely within a single encounter, Do Not Attempt This Conversation is a sharp, funny and deeply human new play that explores the reality of end-of-life decision making in a healthcare system stretched to breaking point.
As grief collides with bureaucracy, compassion and exhaustion, this intimate drama asks what it really means to remain humane within an inhumane system.
⚠️ Content Advisory: Strong language; themes of a sexual nature; serious illness; end-of-life decision-making (DNAR); grief; death
