We are delighted to announce that tickets are on sale NOW for our launch productions of “Feel” by James Lewis and “Feel More” - Seven Stories from the world of “Feel”

Feel is performed as part of a special opening week of performances on March 8th / 9th / 12th and 13th March

Feel More is performed for a special performance on Sunday 10th March at 6.30pm

The launch party with invited / industry professionals is scheduled for Tuesday March 12th 2019 at 7pm, with more details to follow shortly.

Tickets are available now on a “Pay What You Can” basis (recommended donation £10) - all proceeds from these opening shows goes towards to the running of the theatre.

PROGRAMMING SUBMISSIONS OPEN NOW!

The Lion & Unicorn Theatre opens under new management in Spring 2019 and our submission process for new work is open now! We are currently looking for work for the following:

• OPENING SEASON (March / April 2019)

• SUMMER SEASON (May - July 2019)

In addition to the above we also accept speculative programming throughout the year -please email your show details following the process below and we’ll be in touch if we can fit you in!

So whether you’re making work based on new writing, gig theatre, children’s shows, physical theatre, one person shows, improv or an interesting take on an old classic, we want to help you BE WHO YOU WANT TO BE. We know how intimidating it can be to put on a performance, so we want to help make you feel as welcome as supported as possible!

We want producing a show at The Lion & Unicorn Theatre to be a fantastic experience for you and your team. We make our own work too, and we understand all the perils, pitfalls and responsibilities involved in making a show - and we want to go on the adventure with you too!

• Fun, hardworking and focused individuals and companies who are committed to producing great work and to putting every effort into promoting their shows, selling tickets, and bringing the best audiences they can.

TO APPLY:

1. Complete and return our SUBMISSIONS FORM which outlines full details of the show you would like to perform (Link to form HERE:) - (IMPORTANT: PLEASE INDICATE WHICH SEASON YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE CONSIDERED FOR)

2. Include full details of your marketing plan and any other information you think we might need.

3. Once we’ve reviewed your submission, we’ll come back to you and arrange a meeting. (NB: We always invite companies to come in and “pitch” their project to us too!)

4. We always provide an acknowledgement that we’ve received your submission and then feedback on whether it will be a good fit, but please be patient while we review the applications. We’ll get back to you as soon as we can.

5. Once we’ve reviewed the information and programmed a season, we’ll include you in our season announcements and go through next steps with you!

Proforça Theatre Company to take over running of The Lion & Unicorn Theatre

Proforca Theatre Company announces it is to take over the running of the Lion & Unicorn Theatre this Spring. Proforca will take over the running of the theatre in early March. The Lion & Unicorn Theatre is a 60-seat black box studio theatre based above the Lion & Unicorn pub at the heart of Kentish Town, with Camden Town just a stone’s throw away.

The reopened venue will provide a great home for the best in fringe theatre talent that London has to offer and Proforca are keen to provide a warm, nurturing and brilliant experience for both theatremakers and audiences alike. The new venue will be led by Artistic Director David Brady with a brand-new Artist Development programme lead by Theatre N16 founder Jamie Eastlake, who will support the theatre as an Executive Producer. In addition, the theatre will support new writing, as well as provide opportunities for associate artists and companies who will be announced shortly.

“The Lion & Unicorn Theatre is a mainstay of the London Fringe circuit, and has been a key part in our development as a company over the last 18 months. In conjunction with the brilliant friends and partners we’ve made over the last few years we want to create a fringe theatre venue with the reputation to produce brilliant work from the best that The Fringe has to offer. Whoever you are, and wherever you come from, the Lion & Unicorn Theatre can be the place where you can be who you want to be. Taking over the theatre is going to be a fantastic adventure and we hope that everyone will come along with us for the trip of a lifetime. We can’t wait to get started!”

More details will be announced on the show’s opening season in the coming weeks, however the theatre is now accepting submissions for programming for it’s Spring, Summer and Camden Fringe Seasons via its new website. The Lion & Unicorn pub offers a brilliant pre and post show experience, with premium beers, wines and spirits as well as a fantastic and varied food menu offering great pub food. Proforca’s critically acclaimed productions of “Feel” and “Feel More” are performed at the Space in Docklands Feb 5th – 17th.
